 | You scored as XIX: The Sun. This is the happiest card in the deck. It is full of joy and optimism, everything is right with the world. We are as innocent children playing in the fields without care. The Sun brings success, well-being and happiness in all spheres - material, emotional, spiritual -wherever our desires lay. When this card appears in a Tarot spread it indicates success, joy and happiness. Obstacles will be overcome, goals achieved. When badly aspected, it can indicate a stagnation through over-indulgence, too much of a good thing.

"Without violence and by bearing witness, to defend nature, to protect the global commons, to reform industrialism, and to secure peace, believing in action, rather than words."
Please access the following website:
www.waveland.org
and if you are interested, do become a citizen of the smallest country in the world: Rockall, which is a piece of rock that truly exists. England, Norway, Iceland and Ireland want its oil... Waveland, from what I can see as I just joined, is a place where people can share ideas, discussions, etc about how to make this world better place.
Please spread the word.

| Pagans are on the right track |
[Jul. 21st, 2006|07:49 pm] |
I have purchased a gem of a book at Spirits of the Earth Festival. It is called:
Ritual - Power, Healing, and Community
by a wonderful author, Malidoma Patrice Somé. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is in my top 3 favourites with Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach and The Story of B by Daniel Quinn. This book is slowly and organically transforming me.
( Please see some quotes below )
By reading this book, I now know that we, Pagans, are on the right way through the power of ritual-creating-community.
May we be blessed and may we make a marked difference in the world. |

| Yoda... |
[Jul. 19th, 2006|08:34 pm] |
is my personal hero.
Put aside the height and greeness (ok and the ears and hair), I aspire to become like Yoda. Here is why:
"The fear of loss is a path to the Dark Side."
This is so true... Think about it for a few moments:
The... fear... of... loss... is... a... path... to... the... Dark... Side...
This pretty much sums up why our planet is in such a mess. Fear of loss... Actually, in general, I can say we have lost something already: our spiritual self. We are over-consuming (especially in the West but the power of the evil shiny (yes, there is a good shiny that brings the joy and the child out and creates wonders) is slowly taking over mind and soul around the planet) because we feel empty inside... but don't know why! We lost touch with true reality and think that what is real is that new Hummer that we NEED and WANT sooooooooooooo badly! Wy? Because it makes us HAPPY. BS. Material things can't make anyone happy. Look at Elvis. He's dead. HE had everything and he still killed himself. Well-being is a sense of, like the word says, being. And you can't purchase a sense of true being (drugs don't count because they are temporary).
If one is fulfilled in him or herself, there is no place for fear. Rejoice in other people's happiness. Don't be ashamed of who you are. Believe in yourself and your loved ones like they believe in you.
If you happen to encounter false people, be true to yourself and act towards them from the most sacred part of yourself, with kindness and compassion. It confuses the begeezus out of them *grin*
Let's look at another Yoda Quote:
“Yes, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's apprentice.”
It is oh-so-true that it doesn't take much to become negative. It is almost a human instinct it is so easy! Gossiping, backstabbing, jealousy... all lovely left overs from a few hundreds of thousands of years ago, left overs we never addressed... Unfortunately, we have bigger weapons now... So, it is up to us to make a difference.
And now, for the coolest of the coolest:
“Luke: What's in there? Yoda: Only what you take with you.”
*smile* Yoda rocks.
Sign read on a nearby Community church - We become like what we worship.
Note to self - I do have to go and meet the person who comes up with these signs one day...
I'm done. |

| Been-a-while... |
[Jun. 3rd, 2006|11:07 am] |
Wow... The last time I wrote in my LJ was back in October... And even then, not much thought went into the memes I posted... ;)
So, what has been happening with me?
A lot. (Warning, long post)
Many rituals for SiMuCOR as well as personal ones for friends and loved ones.
Work very busy/interesting/I'll pull my hair out one day. The Holidays were atrocious... My plan this year, at work, is to avoid a repeat of the insanity we experienced. So far so good.
I am lucky in that I work with the best team ever. We have a great time together while we work, which makes a huge difference. I have been promoted to Manager in April, which means I am moving in an office with walls... *shudder* It will help me focus on the extra responsibilities but, drats, I'll miss my team (we all sit together).
I am in the process of reading books on empowering people, of making them part of the process and giving them the tools to make their work a challenging and fun time. We are offering refresher courses at work and my entire team signed up. I am so damn proud and, at the same time, it opened my eyes. I am glad for this experience and I look forward to our team brainstomring meetings that are set up for mid-June: How to offer better Customer Service. This means that we will discuss the tools we need, the training we need and the attitude we need... Customer Service: it IS rocket science (and I've got the book to prove it *grin*).
'Nough about work :)
I am slowly developping a relationship with a Goddess I would not have thought would be compatible with me and vice-versa just a few months ago: Frigga. I looooooooooove the Runes, I love Wisdom and am more of a Odian chick than a mother/house keeper type person... I rather leave Old One-Eye alone so he can do what he needs to do without adding my voice to the chorus surrounding him already so I do my thing on my own. But I know He is there and I kinda know where I'm going when I'll die. But Frigga...? Yeah, She's smiling and finds it funny. Hopefully, I'll grasp the joke one day.
In the recent past, I've joined a significant number of newsgroup... Ever joined an on-line group only to find out you're creeped out? I have had that experience but I am having problems removing them from my list because it is fascinating to see how the "other side" thinks... The scariest part is that these people have a vote... *shiver*
Anyway *grin* I am off to a huge backyard paty where a friend is mixing both Pagans and non-pagans who don't know she is Pagan. It *will* be interesting.
Next Saturday is the Barrie Pagan Pub Moot (lemme know if you want to come; I've been organising it for the past 2-3 years now) and the week after is SiMuCOR's MidSummer (Roman style... It is going to be grrrrrrreat!!!) and after that it is WiccanFest. And I can't wait!!!!!!! For the first time, I took the first few days off before Fest so, for me, Fest is starting on the Saturday with the ritual and with great friends coming up from Ottawa for it, staying at our place and then heading of to WF... Talk about a Heathen-oriented life...
See most of you soon!! |

Mystic Theurge 48% Combativeness, 26% Sneakiness, 70% Intellect, 55% Spirituality |
Brilliant and spiritual! You are a Mystic Theurge! Score! You have a prestige class. A prestige class can only be taken after you’ve fulfilled certain requirements. This may mean that you’re an exceptionally talented person, but it probably doesn't. The Mystic Theurge is a combination of a cleric and a mage. They can cast both arcane and divine spells, and are good at both, making them pretty terrifying on the battlefield. They have more raw spellpower than just about any other class. You're both intelligent and faithful, but not violent or deceitful. I guess that makes you a pretty good person. |

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
|
You scored higher than 36% on Combativeness |

You scored higher than 28% on Sneakiness |

You scored higher than 50% on Intellect |

You scored higher than 72% on Spirituality |

| Today was a good day to die |

| | Fulfilled | ] | How very Klingon of me.
Today was an interesting day. It was the 50th birthday of the receptionist where I work and she is a person who I supervise. I knew it was her birthday today but didn't know it was such a milestone in her life. I was talking with her early in the day and this is when I learned her age and that she really loved flowers, something I would have never imagined.
Plans were made and a card went around the department where every member of the team signed and I ordered flowers for her. My manager advised me to expense it since it is such a major birthday in one's life. (I work for a great company).
Well... We made her day. She sent us an e-mail letting us know that she was speechless and that it looked like it was true that good things started at 50. I am very proud of the actions I took today as they made someone happy, very happy. It had been decades since she had received flowers from her workplace.
I am honoured to have contributed to her happiness.
Today was a good day to die because making someone happy created a perfect universe for me.
Practicing random acts of kindness could actually make a difference in the life we live.
What if, radically, we gave space to the person trying to merge with the traffic instead of trying to get a head one car space?
What if we smiled at the cashier at the grocery store instead of bitching about the length of time it takes to get out of there?
What if we complimented at least half of the people we meet each day?
And what if we really walked our talk and created healthy and functional communitIES? Diversity is the key to survival.
Just musing... |

You are the the Hierophant card. The Hierophant, called The Pope in some decks, is the preserver of cultural traditions. After entering The Emperor's society, The Hierophant teaches us its wisdom. The Hierophant learns and teaches our cultural traditions. The discoveries our ancestors have made influence the present. Without forces such as The Hierophant who are able to interpret and communicate traditional lore, each generation would have to begin to learn anew. As a force that is concentrated on our past and our culture, The Hierophant can sometimes be stubborn and set in his ways. This is a negative trait he shares with his zodiac sign, Taurus. But like Taurus he is productive. His traditional lore can provide a source of inspiration for the creatively inclined, and his knowledge provides an excellent foundation for those who come into their own in the business world. Your Birthdate: August 19 |
Your birth on the 19th day of the month adds a tone of independence and extra energy to your life path.
But at the same time, it poses a number of obstacles to overcome before you are able to be as independent as you would like. The number 1 energy suggests more executive ability and leadership qualities than your path may have indicated.
A birthday on the 19th of any month gives greater will power and self-confidence, and very often a rather original approach. However, a somewhat self-centered approach to life that may be in conflict with some of the other influences in your life.
This 1 energy may diminish your ability and desire to handle details, preferring instead to paint with a broad brush.
You are sensitive, but your feeling stay somewhat repressed.
You have a compelling manner that can be dominating in many situations.
You do not tend to follow convention or take advice very well.
Consequently, you tend to learn through experience; sometimes hard experiences.
The 19/1 is a loner number and you may experience feelings of being alone even if you are married.
You may take on a tendency to be nervous and angry. |

| | Whatever is playing on Yahoo Messenger/Dance | ] | It has been a long time since I updated this on-line journal... It feels like a gazillion of years to be more precise *g* Somehow, I simply forgot or didn't feel like it.
Even now I am struggling for things to say, to relate, to share because I feel that my life is such a private thing yet I (kinda) keep a journal. Strange but not unique. In the past month, the SiMuCOR library became concrete with 2 huge donations, 1 from a friend and another from a lady we don't know but was contacted through adds. We have lots of books which makes my heart happy because it was a dream of mine to have a lending library. Like I told P. those books are not mine, they are SiMuCOR's and the only rule is that only members can borrow them at the cost of $1 which goes towards SiMuCOR. I have $8 sitting here right now which is pretty good. R. is the biggest borrower which, in my opinion, is very cool. :) I like people with eclectic taste. That's why I have eclectic friends. And I love them all. :)
*rambling*
We all make mistakes. The most important things about making mistakes is learning from them and moving on, not being caught up by them and playing them over and over in our head. Apologize, make amends and move on. The interesting thing is that something that would have been considered a mistake a few months ago might not appear so if repeated again or viewed with new eyes.
A friend of mine is slipping into trouble but that type of trouble is all in the head. I have been there, it ended badly but I dusted myself off and moved on. I still look upon that period of my life with interest in that I often wonder how I let things spiral so much out of control but I don't judge and I just acknowledge that these things do happen. I think that, one way or another, we've all been there. And when we look back we are just astounded at what just happened. These things can be stopped, when they are in our head, by simply stepping back and saying: STOP.
*new rambling*
I am leaving soon for Calgary for work and, even though I know I will have a good, fun and absolutely work-crazy time, it makes me unhappy because I will miss our monthly Coffee Meet as well as Lammas ritual :( We have a good thing going on in Barrie/Simcoe County and I miss my friends when gathers happen and I'm not there :( It's like missing a family reunion. As with all family, there are growths, aches and pains but the important thing is that the lines of communication remain open and that judging does not happen.
*gods*
On a totally different subject, I love my gods and goddesses. I've been challenged and accepted the challenge. I wear a new symbol as well as the Hammer and that new symbol is fitting as it is a compromise that has been achieved between the Old Man and myself. I'll see where it leads me.

If you want to change the world, start by letting people merge in front you when you're driving. It reduces the stress level of all those around... Especially on entry ramps.

I want to believe that, finally, we will wake up as a whole, take a good look around us and start following our heart instead of our fears: We are all on one planet. Before our era, which began approximately 10,000 years ago, we managed to live without destroying everything around us. We can still do it.
And the first step?
Go sign this. www.live8live.com
Go do it now, and read the site. It is easy to go through, informative as well as empowering. I can’t go to Edinburgh. I can still participate AND MAKE HISTORY.
Do we want to be recognized as those who changed the world, millions at a time?
If so, NOW is the time, NOW is the time, NOW is the time.
Do it. NOW.
I challenge you. Do it.
You are still here?
Stop being so cynical and do it. If it doesn’t work, it will have cost you 1 minute of your time. If it works? Then our world will change. And us with it. As we recreate it. As we re-mold it. As we know we CAN make a difference.

I went to one of the biggest store I have ever been into in my entire life. It offered everything from hot chocolate, to zucchinis, to lawnmower, to kid's pools. It was large, it was bright, it was clean. And it was soulless. The prices are good but, gods, did I ever feel alone in this place. Support your local stores.
An epiphany:
Things really *do* happen for a reason and the gods know a lot more than we do. A lot more.
